      Somatic Walking Group 9-28-2025
https://www.eventbrite.com/.../somatic-walking-group...
When we’re struggling with anxiety or depression, one of the hardest things to do is reach out—and yet one of the things that helps most is connection. Too often, we isolate ourselves, and the cycle just keeps going. This group is here to break that pattern.
Walking has been shown by mental health experts to support anxiety and depression just as much as meditation or medication when it’s done consistently. Add in the grounding power of nature, the rhythm of movement, and the presence of others who understand—and you have a recipe for real healing.
This is not just a walking group. It’s a space for connection, accountability, and nervous system support. As a somatic practitioner (and as someone who knows what it’s like to live with anxiety and has faced the depths of depression and works to live in spite of having multiple chronic pain conditions), I’ll guide us in bringing all five senses into our walks. We’ll use somatic awareness to reconnect to our bodies and to nature, creating moments of regulation and presence together. Over time, this practice can help “recondition” your nervous system, making it easier to find steadiness even when life gets overwhelming.
This group is for adults who experience anxiety or depression, or chronic pain whether you’ve been given a diagnosis or not. You don’t need to show up perfectly. You don’t need to have the right words. You just need to show up as you are.
As the seasons shift, many of us feel the pull of seasonal depression creeping in. My hope is that by starting this group now, we can build a routine and a community that will carry us through together.
Location:
I-Lan Park
